In November 2011, Shwe Sa Bwe opened its doors to training young people from provinces of Myanmar. Our program lasts for one year, where students will specialize in either Culinary training, or F&B service. Upon completion of the program, students receive a professional certificate which allows them to find good jobs in the top hotels and restaurants of Myanmar. The training includes 1 month of theory (during August, when the restaurant is closed), and 11 months of applied practice in our French fine-dining restaurant in Yangon. English classes are sponsored by Edulink, and life skills classes are taught at Shwe Sa Bwe.
The youth are selected for their motivation, kindness, and willingness to stay and work in the country. Shwe Sa Bwe fully covers the food, accommodation, uniform, and training material costs of its students. Tips are the sole form of income for them.
Shwe Sa Bwe is a not-for-profit organization. All the profits coming from the restaurant, catering and bakery activities are only used to support the school.
